When we started life as a medical family, I knew I wanted to put my event planning skills to use to help raise awareness and funds for Mitochondrial Disease.  My husband supported this idea and asked me “What kind of event are you going to plan??” At the time, I wasn’t a fan of running – so a 5K was not an option.  What did I like to do?  I liked floating on the river with friends. It was a bonus that Lorelei LOVED the water.  So in 2017 I invented the “Float for a Mito Cure.”  We floated together for three years and then COVID forced us to go virtual for our 4th. 

Here we are, still facing a global pandemic, Lorelei is no longer here to float with us and Benji hates (read: HATESSSS) water. So we are pivoting a bit – but I promise it will be just as much fun, if not even more fun!

So what’s the deal? 

WHEN: March 18-20, 2022 for those who are camping all weekend.  The main event is on Saturday March 19 though for those who are not going to stay onsite.

WHERE: Holiday TRAV-L Campground in Virginia Beach, VA.

WHO: You, and you, and you and you!  Everyone! RV’ers, campers, and those who want to stay in cabins. (Again, day passes are available for those who want to come for SATURDAY ONLY if camping isn’t your jam!)

HOW MUCH?  Holiday TRAV-L is giving us discounted rates because we are a fundraiser! Costs vary for the sites depending on the type you are staying on. For the fundraising portion, it is $25 per person for all inclusive activities*, movie + popcorn, Saturday lunch and Sunday breakfast. (*Participating in the Corn Hole Tournament is not included in the ticket.*)

FRIDAY 

2PM: Campers are able to check in at Holiday TRAV-L Campground
7PM: Movie Night! Join us for Trolls + Popcorn at the camp’s Movie Theater. Bring your own chairs or blankets! 

SATURDAY 

730AM: Yoga – Movie Theater
8:00AM – 9:00AM: Hot Chocolate Booth Open – Site 29
9:30AM – Tie Dye – Site 29 ** HOPE FULL shirts available for pre-order OR bring your own white shirts!  We have other supplies!
10AM: Silent Auction Opens – Site 27
10AM: Corn Hole Tournament Registration Opens
11AM: Welcome Kick-off – Corn Hole Field
11:15AM: Corn Hole Tournament Starts 
1130AM – 2PM: Lunch available – Site 29
2PM: Hope Rock Painting – Site 28
3-4PM: Wine Tasting – Site 38 
330-430PM: Unlock the Cooler Raffle – Site 27

How do I sign up?? 

1. Click on the SIGN UP HERE buttons all over this page.

2.  You will receive an email from Suz within 24-48 hours to confirm your donation total. 

3.  Make your CHOP donation for your tickets within 24 hours and your site will be assigned to you. 

4.  The campground will be calling everyone for your site/cabin deposit. 50% deposit is due at time of booking.  

Things to note: 

1. Your donation to CHOP for your ticket(s) is a non-refundable donation. Unfortunately it is out of our ability to give you that money back if you decide to not attend this fundraiser. 

2. The Corn Hole Tournament is not included in the HOPE FULL pass.  That is a separate cost, paid in cash, at the time of registration. 

3. SATURDAY ONLY VISITORS: Please Carpool!  Parking is limited because day visitors are not normal for a campground. 

4.  This fundraiser is RAIN OR SHINE, SUN OR SNOW.  Activities may have to be adjusted if weather is not allowing it… (like good luck having a bonfire in the rain…) 

5.  To be guaranteed a spot in our group you must sign up by 9/15/21.  After that, depending on availability, you may not be next to our group sites.
